NexusTools is a modding utility for WATCH_DOGS, allowing you to easily install, and create mods.

Make sure your files are vanilla for the best experience, if you have previously installed a mod that modifies the patch.dat or patch1.dat, please verify your game files (this will restore the game files to vanilla.) Modifying game files directly is not required when you use NexusTools. Can't verify your game files? Download the vanilla patch/patch1 here.
Download NexusTools from the link above, open up the zip file, and then extract it to your game directory. Your game directory can be found via:
You've installed NexusTools! Now it's time to install your first mod. (if you are on Linux, please see Linux notes first)
Launch the game - you should see the NexusTools configuration window appear before the game loads, that's how you know it's working! Press INSERT, PAUSE, or CTRL + \ while in game to open the NexusTools GUI.
data_win64/mods folder in your game directory. The correct folder structure should look like data_win64/mods/living_city/living_city.dat (this file should exist, amongst other files in the directory)NexusTools officially supports Linux via running WATCH_DOGS via WINE/Proton, however, to ensure NexusTools gets loaded with your game, you'll need to do the following steps:
Both these methods will accomplish the same thing, so only follow the one that is easiest for you.
When launching WATCH_DOGS, specify WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" as an environment variable.
In Steam for example, you can add:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command% to your Launch Arguments, and NexusTools will work automatically.
winecfg, you may need to specify your WINEPREFIX if it isn't the system default. If you're using software like Bottles or ProtonTricks, they'll be an option to "Configure WINE"/"Open WINE config"dinput8 into the New override for library field, and press Add.OK, and you're done!
